what are you "jumping" to get the car started.

If you have to jump the switch, then you need a new switch. if you have to jump the battery, you might have a bad battery, or a bad terminal

if you are jumping the solenoid, it may be bad, but check for 12v+ at the signal wires from the ignition before condemning it

if you converted from aod to t-5 the PRNDL switch needs to be wired / 2 of the wires jumped together

on the AOD on the left hand side where the shift linkage hooked there was a switch with an electrical 4 pin connector on it, 2 wires are for starter lock out = car must be in park or in nuetral for starter operation to work and the other two wires went to the back up lights, for ease the two wires for starter operation I just made a jumper wire up on the harness side to connect the two together, which makes it so it'll start in gear, some don't like that idea so they wire those two up to the clutch switch which is a normally open switch and closed upon pedal depression

mine is done the same way as mjr's car except that I cut the connector off you just always have to remember to either have the car in neutral or have the clutch engaged
