i think thats about the only place you CAN bolt it on the side isnt it?? uness you wanna make some custom bracketry that goes to a front accessory bracket or something. whats the problem with bolting it to the headers?? what isnt lining up? or whats severely bent?

probably not as bad as leaving the cap off the oil fill tube. haha. been there done that. but that valve cover is a helluva lot easier to clean now. haha. i mean, you do know you can just bend that ear around the dipstick right?? or is it broken off, or just so brittle that if you do try bending it, it will break?? or you just can just try bending the actual dipstick. just be careful so you dont bend it too much too fast. delicacy is your friend. i think i had to tweak mine JUST A LITTLE when i put my shorties on. no big deal though.

Weld a strap to the dipstick tube at the base and bend it in such a way that it can go down and bolt to an oil pan bolt. It will hold it secure and keep it from coming out of the block.

just dont bolt it to anything. I used a little silicone on mine and it stays no problem.
