Default edelbrock power package

I am looking into some more power for my dads 70 302 for him. Summit racing lists an edelbrock power package for the hydro flat tappet motor. It includes heads, cam intake and all gaskets, all we would need is the matching carb. His car already has headers and true duals. Kit goes for around $1800.

Anyone have any experience with these kits? What is the HP to the wheels or crank hp?

Thanks guys (and or girls)

most of those kits with supporting mods end up at 260-280 at the rear wheels

They're good for the money, and take the guesswork out. One piece of advice, whatever you get, go with a hydraulic roller cam. Modern oils can be a real trouble spot on new flat tappet engines. Edelbrock even has power packages with roller cams instead of flat tappet.

Yeah, but it seems like most people don't "follow the rules" on flat tappet cams these days. You tell them, they nod, and then rip up a cam. Besides, rollers will make more power anyway.
