Default Smog pump bypass

I want to bypass the pump with a shorter belt what size could I use. When I looked it up I saw that 84.5" was the proper size but could I get away with a 84 or 85 or another length? It is very hard for me to track down a 84.5" where I am.
Also I can leave the pump on there and it won't get in the way right?

you can keep the same size belt with the smog pump on if you want. take all the guts out of the smog pump. //or use a smog pump delete pulley. if youre not going to use it, i'd take it off (cleans up some room). i cant remember the size belt i had to use exactly. i just sat up at autozone and tried a few different sizes until i found one that was 1 size smaller then where the belt rubbed under the tensioner. i have underdrives on the crank and waterpump and i think mine was in the the 70's". i dont remember it being in the 80's but it was a long day trying to find the perfect size. good luck. if you have any other questions with it just ask. just went through this about a month ago.
