MORE 86 idle issues....
well after running pretty good for quite some time my car has decided to idle very irratically. at start up it goes through what i would think is the normal warm up preocess. it idles a little high then slowly drops back to around 800rpm. at 800 its a rough idle but doesnt bounce or surge. after another minute or so it shoots up to around 1250 for a minute until finally it drops down again to 750. at that point i usually start driving it and this is when things start to go nuts.... under slow acceleration it seems to be ok for the most part. no hanging idle, surging, ect. but anything more than about 1/4 throttle seems to make the rpms stick. at times cruising down the road in fourth at like 40 i can take my foot off the gas all together and the idle will pull me along like im still on the pedal. if i downshift approaching a red light i actually speed up! it doesnt stop until i shut the car off and restart it. i've checked for binding or sticking in the throttle cable but it doesnt seem to have any problems moving freely. ive also changed the iac, plugged the egr and vacuum lines, cleaned the maf sensor, i also ran a can of sea foam through which seemed to help for like the first 10 minutes i drove it, then it was back to the poor idle. if anyone has any ideas or experience with a similar problem your help is appreciated. its pretty annoying to have to shut the car off and back on everytime i pull up to a red light. thanks in advance.

take the TB off and clean the ever living **** out of it. make it look brand new, check your TPS voltages, make sure your MAP sensor doesnt have a vac line attached to it.
you may have to reset the ECM, clear the KAM and do a base idle relearn.
I did everything I could think of, and still had to run a IAC restrictor gasket to get my idle to stop hanging at 1800rpm's (even tried tuning it out)

you know the gasket that goes between the IAC and the TB...
it just has smaller holes in it.
Try getting your car up to temp, set you base idle SLIGHTLY higher, and unplug the IAC. see if your problem persist. If it stops, then its purely IAC related. if it doesnt.. then keep working

haha thats probably a good idea. my buddy has a 90 supercharged and what not but had a little fire one day in mcdonalds parking lot. the school bus driver who was parked right next to him told him NO when he asked to use his extinguisher! he had to run inside and use micky d's
