Did you ever resolve this issue?

My friend Jon is having pretty much the exact same issue with his 90 5.0. It barely starts, and runs like crap. We dropped the gas tank, gas was bad, emptied it, and put in fresh gas, and also changed the hose from the fuel pump to the metal line as it was cracked. Fuel pump is a ford motor sport 190lph and it works fine. Fuel pressure is good.

When the car does run it smells like it is dumping fuel. It is all stock except headers, exhaust, and k&n. swapped the maf with a friends mustang. Same issue. Changed the plugs, cap, rotor, same issue. Has msd coil and wires. Spark is strong. Had ignition module checked, it was bad. Replaced it. Same issue. Pulled the dizzy and lined it up using the balancer, still same issue, though i'm wondering if his balancer has "spun" on the hub. He says it was replaced 3-4 years ago but I still think it may have. Wont get to mess with it for a couple weeks due to the holidays so wanted to try and get the issue figured out before we do any more wrenching.

check your fuel pressure and make sure all your injectors are firing (clicking) i had this same issue with a turbo 2.3

your kidding right? youd rather i start a new thread for the exact same issue then to use the search as i did? this is the first forum i have ever seen where someone got crap for actually using the search button.

also, the fuel pressure is fine, i stated that as we have already checked it. as for the injectors firing, i havent checked each individual one, but since its pouring black smoke out the back like it is super rich, i dont really think the injectors are not firing, but ill add it to the list of things to check.

Yes, you are supposed to start your own thread that way people don't get confused on what is going on. Its ok to comment and put a similar experience but if you are asking more questions like you are you need to have your own thread. Read the rules.

alright how about this then, injectors can stick open too, thus pouring fuel, I said i had the same problem for a reason, and chill the hell out man, its just a comment I wasn't "giving you ****" and if you can't take a reasonable comment that i made before offering advice on your question. The search button isn't there to create zombie threads but to gain information through others experience before you ask your own, its the internet man, calm down.
