alt bracket problem

Default alt bracket problem

I just got a trans dapy alt bracket and im not sure how to install it. and help or pictures would be great. here is a link ok what i have.

That is the old style brackets before the serpentine belt system. If you look at the application tab on Summit's website it says for "V" belt drive. Unless you have changed your serpentine to V belt, it will not work.

Wouldn't be the first time Summit is wrong. They are a great company with great customer service. I am sure they will take it back
Serpentine belt systems are tightened by using a tensioner pulley. With the one you bought it has that slotted bracket because you used to have to adjust the alt. and PS. individually. I am sure it looks nothing like what you have on your car right now.

well now you actually can tension your belt off your alternator pulley.........

March makes one for the 86 - 93 mustang serpentine belt, and uses a shaft with threaded rod ends to adust the tension. It replaces the bulky stock alternator/smog pump bracket.
