do these TF twisted wedge heads have too much porting for a stock 302,with TF track heat intake, would get a custom grind camshaft to match. the heads porting are:
Combustion Chamber Volume (cc)-65
Intake Runner Volume (cc)-185cc
Exhaust Runner Volume (cc)-66cc
Intake Valve Diameter (in)-2.020 in.
Exhaust Valve Diameter (in)-1.600 in.
Maximum Valve Lift (in)-0.600 in.

Should be alright. a little on the big side for a stocker.. but if you plan for F/I in the future or a nice stroker they'll be fine. 165's would be more ideal for a stock 302. IMO
Either way good luck, your gonna notice a big difference from the junk stock heads anyway.

hmm thats what i was thinking too. what about
Combustion Chamber Volume (cc)-61
Intake Runner Volume (cc)-170cc
Exhaust Runner Volume (cc)-66cc
Intake Valve Diameter (in)-2.020 in.
Exhaust Valve Diameter (in)-1.600 in.
Maximum Valve Lift (in)-0.600 in.
the thing is these 170 heads aren't CNC'd porting. Im guessing they are cast or similar. Is that going to be a downfall or problem?

What's the goal your trying to acheive??? If your already talking trick flow your ready to spend a grand minimum. Just get AFR 165's their worth every penny IMO i got mine for 1300. i dont have them on the car yet but i'm actually going to run them on a mild 331.

yeah, i know about the price. My goal is a DD that can take on any sh*t talker LS* or hemi. I want to see what i can do with NA but I will probably get bored with that and go KB 2.1 flowzilla far in the future. also, thanks for your help

Go with a smaller combustion chamber(55ish) to increase the compression and a nasty cam (in terms of still streetable) 1.6 rollers, a lighter flywheel, and 4.10 gears. with your track heat manifold I'd go with a 70mm throttle bodie and 73 or 76mm mass air. 24lb injectors (may need slightly bigger) 155 in tank pump. something along those lines should get into the mid to high 12's depending on driver and tire and suspention combo.
Dont forget time on the dyno and a good tune..

The first set, better the intake manifold and use the camshaft to make everything work together and you'll have a stockish sounding setup capable of performing and daily drive more efficiently. FYI.... a 185cc TW is ~ a 195 cc stock port length head (a 195cc Victor Jr. if there was one, or a 195cc Pro Comp).... with the correct valve events and setup they work fine in a 302 N/A.
