Default Thinking of power adders (turbo/supercharger)

As the title says, if i did go this route, would i have to upgrade my ignition system? heads? I know i would be looking at a bigger carb, but i would like to spend $2000 or less, is this possbile? If so, which route should i take?

Or would it be better to invest in a GOOD set of heads?

If I could do it over again, I would honestly do the supercharger route first. There really is nothing like the feeling of boost as it builds toward redline. Turbo would be the best route to make horsepower. However, the cost is going to be much, much more. Usually, you can find a used supercharger like Vortech or Paxton for a reasonable price. Everytime people ask about poweradders, I take them to this site because there are tons of used superchargers/turbos out there. http://forums.corral.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=273 I got mine here for a real good deal. As for ignition, the stock set-up will work fine. You will need to get spoark plugs at least one heat range colder and gap them to .025-.032(Autolite 3924 or NGK tr6 work great). You will also need a 255lph fuel pump and 30(w/FMU) or 42lb injectors. Here is a decent kit from the corral:http://forums.corral.net/forums/show....php?t=1134531,http://forums.corral.net/forums/show....php?t=1134056

Right now my ignition system is a Mallory billet distributor, mallory pro master coil and mallory hyfire iva. As for fuel pump i have a holley blue i think, its what i was told, i never really looked at it. And i dont have injectors i have a holley 700cfm double pumper, but would a supercharger/turbo be able to work with stock heads?

I seen this kit on ebay, its not one of those kits from china, think its worth it?

go ahead and run 16lbs of boost and blow the heads right off your car!

i have an hp turbo stage 1 kit. i ended up with 437hp/465tq at the wheels...i would NEVER buy a kit on ebay...get a reputable kit from treadstone or cartech

i think my next step is a supercharger or turbocharger

i have stock injectors and fuel rail, but everything else is ready to go

what is the benefit of one over the other?

a turbo doesn't draw any power from the motor..a supercharger relies on a belt to run it. a turbo runs on spent exhaust gases...much more efficient.

you will need to upgrade your injectors for sure, fuel rail can remain stock.

In many cases, I would say NO to Ebay turbo kits. However, On3 Performance has actually somewhat proven themselves. The only problem to worry about is his stuff is made and China and the hotside it made of stainless steel. This will equal a cracked header and tubing down the road. He said he is developing mild steel, so that should remedy the situation a bit.
Here's a few links: http://forums.corral.net/forums/show...rformance.com/ http://www.on3performance.com/,

There are no current CARB legal turbo kits out there. Most of the time they have you eliminate the EGR and other emissions components like catalytic converters. Your best bet would be to go the centrifugal SC route. You'll save more $$ than over a turbo kit along with staying emissions legal. Vortech, Paxton, Kennebell(roots blower), Powerdyne(out of business for a reason), and Procharger are popular blowers.
