Default Tailpipe Question

I have Flowmaster 40 series on my 90 LX. The car did not come with tailpipes so
I bought some (unknown make). However, there is a size difference. How should I
connect the muffler to the tailpipe? I have considered cutting slits into the tailpipe
and when clamping the muffler to the tailpipe, the tailpipe flange will collapse.
What is the best method (dont want to weld).
I have attached a bad picture of the tailpipe flange. Thanks.

What size is the exit on the muffler and what size is the tail pipe?? I don't like to use clamps on my exhaust, I weld them.

I do not want to weld in case I need to remove. The tailpipe flange is about 3-1/2
and the muffler is smaller (approx 3)

They can be removed when they are welded together. In your case I would go to the part store and get a piece of pipe out of their exhaust section that you can get. They are like 4 inches long or so and can come in different sizes, great for what you need. Just be sure on what size you need by the inside diameter and outside diameter. If you don't you will be having to get another piece of pipe.
