Now i'm tired of Sti's help me.... plz
I drive a 1989 mustang 5.0 Lx i have 373 gears and bbk intake and a ram air hood wid magna flow exh. 79kmiles
not much as u can see.
i was wondering what i can do to beat these Sti's Running around everywhere. It seems off the line i have them but shortly after they rock me.....
lets say my price range is 7k.
what can i do to my car to put these guys behind me 1-2 car lengths at all times. i would love a break down of parts to put in my car from most expensive to most effective with probable installation costs. but i know that would take alot of someones time.
i was thinking super charger, and or turbo, maybe twin , venom injectos , (bigger tires ) mine are stock- but brand new. Maybe a new cam- idk what size or diffence it makes. and bottle feed my baby if i have too.

a good head/cam setup in a lx could smoke a sti all day long. In reality most stock stis on the street only run high 13s or low 14s. In magazines they launch them at redline to get the times they claim.

I probably would look throug the classifieds here on this forum to find you some things to help achieve what you're looking for, and you'll probably get a good price compared to new as well.
If the average stock sti's really only do about 13's and 14's in the quarter then you shouldnt have a hard time modding to beat that.

It depends on the STi. I've seen stockers run high 13's and I've seen street drivers running low 11's. Most of them are close to stock, maybe some bolt ons, a tune a bit more boost, a good h/c/i will get you there, but the blower will make sure you're faster than most of them. Welcome to reality though, you need to face the fact there's always gonna be a turbo 4 banger somewhere that's faster than you unless you have a built and blown setup(aftermarket block).

pick one of the following and build accordingly (or build both)

stroke
blow
boost
or juice.
you could upgrade to a 351, with a good HCI and do a good suspension. most the money will be in suspension and tranny/rear unless you go crazy on the motor.
