Clutch/Trans problems
I have an 88 mustang the clutch or the transmossion is giving me problems (maybe both). At first it sounded like the tranmission was grinding, like slipping up (kinda of like a clanking sound coming from it). It drove for a couple miles then I heard the clanking then a skreach, then it died. Now when I start it (its in nuetral) I let the clutch out to just idle, it acts like it wants to take off. If I put it into first, and try to go it doesnt move. I can let the clutch pedal all the way out give it a little gas it tries to go but doesnt. The feeling is like when you have a wheel blocked try to go and it doesnt move then dies, thats what it does. I have no idea if this even makes sense to anyone.
No idea if its the clutch the transmission or both any help is appreciated.
Thanks

What happens when you try other gears? I've had transmissions break on me in a couple ways: 1,2, and Reverse don't respond but 3,4,5 still work and all work except for 2nd gear. I've never had a clutch go out on me, so I don't know much about that...
