Yeah, I am thinking it might be a bearing. At first I thought possible loose pushrod/rocker, or maybe even a lifter, but the noise is too loud to be a lifter. I am going to start tearing into it in the next day and see what the prognosis is.

Good 'ol number 8. Every 302 I've had the number eight rod bearing has always been the weak spot. Good luck dude
