Default auto trans ?
my buddies 89 5.0 the trans slips really bad when cold u have to rev to 2300 rpm bfore it will start to move and then will slip when u get on it any ideas

fluid is full it is brown and smells like *** but full

i couldn't tell u if has or not i would say no but i dont know didnt want to wast the money to change if if the trans is junk

it's possible the tranny is bad ......add a half pint of brake fluid to it and drive it and see if it temporarly cures the slip

The automatic trans fluid should be a pink color and not brown. A slipping trans is not a good thing, obviously. Luckily, AOD's are a dime a dozen and cheap too.

Change the fluid and filter. If that does not cure the problem, reuse it. But it seems the transmission is starting to slip bad. When mine started slipping I wasted no time and threw it out.

she slips bad i would have to say that the fuild has never been changed she has 140000 miles on her
