this is all great info. thank you all. i think ill spend the couple extra bucks and get a comp cam. ill post pics as soon as i can. its a sight for sore eyes now, but hopefully about a month from now ill have it running.

I understand exactly what your saying, I've been on both sides of the fence, ots and custom and my custom builds have been far superior than my ots ones, I can't wait to get the custom cam and motor back together in my 89 vert , it's a custom grind with .550+ lift and light on duration and meant to work with a stock bottom end, rpm heads, and ported cobra intake amongst other typical bolt ons.......anyway the performance benifit of custom IMO far outweighs the extra money spent, budgets in the end are never realistic when in search of performance, had that been the case and had the performance bug not bit you or I, you'd never of added a supercharger or I switched from a 306 to a 347 with no2 correct??
