Is this too Hot? :(

Is this too Hot? :(
So here's the deal. A few months back I purchased a 95 Mustang GTS with who knows how many miles. Too many I assume. Well, the car would run warm. It would hit "A" on NORMAL. I thought the stock gauge may be wrong, so I threw in an Oreilys' 'Special' temp gauge. It would always read 230 degrees when operating, but the needle would never go below 170 degrees when the car had sat overnight or for days.I had one of those portable temperature gauges and when the car was warm, it would read 190-200 degrees(when directed at the EGT) I knew something was up because after 15-20 min of driving, the coolant would bubble into the expansion tanks. So, a few weeks back, the engine threw a rod bearing. I tore it down and had it rebuilt. I threw in a new water pump and 180 T-Stat. Well, the problem still persists. So, I felt that the Oreily's gauge was broken, so I took it out and threw in a Chinese one from Harbor Freight. It read 190-200, but never went above 200 degrees. Unfortunately, after two hours of driving with it, it broke. I hooked the stock gauge back up and it still fluctuates between "A-L." The portable temp gauge reads about 190 at night and 195-205 in 95 degree heat with the A/C on. The fan DOES work and kicks in as should, albeit a bit delayed thanks to Ford tuning(my other 95 did it too). I should also mention that the radiator has been replaced, but do not know when. I apologize for the long post, but this problem is driving me crazy. I don't know what to think. Thanks!

Thanks for the response man. Yeah, I've always read that 5.0's tend to run a bit hot, same as the 96-98 Cobra's. But the funny thing is, my other 95 Mustang prior to the Vortech would stay right at the "N" in NORMAL and never budge. With the Vortech, it runs at the R-M in 95+ degree heat. Maybe these gauges are just dumb. It's funny, three different gauges, three different results.

Thanks! Yeah, that is what I was thinking. But this was measured with a portable temp gauge pointed right at the EGT, so I am assuming that it's relatively accurate. Plus, the motor no longer has bubbles rising up from the coolant reservoir after driving it for extended periods of time. So that's a plus....

My car has been getting hot lately but that's because my expansion tank is leaking. Since I've duck taped that bitch up, I've been barely getting over 185 and that's in AZ heat. I get up to 205 with A/C on.
