Default clutch problem

hey guys hope you can help me. Well not too long ago my clutch cable snapped so i replaced it and it worked fantastic! and i drove it fine for about a day and it worked amazing. But then a problem occured. i was driving my car just like regular and i pressed in the clutch and felt a pop of thud in the pedal and i notced that i have to press the clutch down farther than what it had been to get it to shift. So i decided to head home to check everything out and then another thud and i had to press it all the way to the floor to get it to shift. now the car will start but it wont shift into any gear. whats going on guys? did somthing internally with th clutch go wrong?

if the cable hasn't snapped and it's lost it's adjustment the self adjusting mechanism for the cable is on the prawl on the quadrant, that's how I arrived at the conclusion= logical when you understand the description and operation of the system
