im in the process or removing the smog plumbing and going to stick a bolt in the back of the motor, at least for now. was wondering what the wire sensor thingy is that is hooked into the top of a cap that is connected to the plumbing. lol sorry for the great terminolgy. guess i should go get a hans manual. just wanted to know if im going to have any problems with taking this off and leaving it hangin or whatever i should do with it. thanks

Im guessing this is for your 88 lx in your sig.. the only "wires" that i can think of are the vacuum lines that go to each of the two check valves... so here is the list of what you need to do.

-remove pump
-get shorter serp belt... 84.5" if you can find it, but I used an 85" (this includes a/c, p/s, alt, water pump and your crank pullies)
-remove hoses/piping that go from the exhaust-pump-back of heads (if you cut the piping that comes up from the exhaust then crimp and JB weld the pipe that is left over on the exhaust, under the car) I left that pipe on the car and just plugged it
-plug vacuum lines with a vacuum cap (just pull them out of the connector and put a cap on the ones you just removed
-install a bolt in the back of each head. I believe its a 5/8" bolt, dont quote me. but i installed them when i had the heads off of the motor, it made it a lot easier, i also put a sealer on each bolt... also i took a tap and ran it into the threading to remove the carbon buildup

i think i got it all so good luck if the heads are still on the car

thanks a lot. so the metal tubing that runs to the back or each head, is that a pain to get off?

Well I just removed mine, still have to get my 5.0 back together though, but still have more work to do, but this is going to be interesting with the Kenne Bell being on there and getting a belt to work. However, I think the stock belt may just make it as it's shorter than the Kenne Bell belt.

right, but a serp is half that...

and nitrous, the pipe that goes to the back of the heads shouldnt be terribly hard, if you can get a socket on the bolt on each side, otherwise use a wrench... but i think you could probably just slide it out the passenger side once its disconnected..
