Please help, Electric Fan problem
#11
Are you running a stock thermostat? That is probably a 192 degree thermostat so your fan is not the 'problem'. Also, a car running at 200 on the highway is right in the middle of the range that it was designed to run in.

get a 180 t stat and a aftermarket fan controller my buddy had that fan and it sucked he went to a flex a lite fan vsc after seeing how mine ran. Also do you have the air damn under the front bumper that forces air up into the radiator. If you dont have that on there no matter what fan you have its going to over heat.

what do you recommend as far as for the fan controller, also i think its a 180 thermostat it used to run around 185 at idle, ill prolly replace the t stat today, and see how its doin, thanks for all the advice.

If it's heating up on the highway. This problem is not related to the probe, fan controller or fan. All of those items are out of the equation since you don't need a fan on the highway. You can even run without one if you ALWAYS drive above 40 mph.
Going back to the original problem in the first post. A fan controller must have it's ON temperature set higher than the thermostat temperature. If you don't you create a situation where the fan is running but the thermostat is closed. Cooling cold water in a non circulating radiator is just a waste of electricity.
Why the fan is not pulling the temperature down is either, not enough fan or the radiator not big enough ( not likely ) or it's plugged up (common with cars after 15 years).
Another thing. A 160, 180 or a 190 thermostat will ALL be wide open at 200 deg so swapping to a different temp stat will make no difference there.
