Default 4.30's....Im considering....

Well in my last stang I had 4.10's, I was considering going with 4.30's in my next stang....both are 5-speeds....well my question is who has had 4.30's is it that much worse that 4.10's...how much higher rpms will they be than 4.10's...and will it be even quicker acceleration than the 4.10's....or is 4.30 really way too high? I almost never drive on the highway... never on the highway..im staying N/A too...the car has trick flow heads, stock cam and stock bottom end, typhoon intake mainfold(P&P), full exhaust(no cats), 70mm tb, 76mm maf, 24lbs injectors,190lph fuel pump, 3.73 in there now, pro 5.0 shifter, it has smog pump elim, pulleys, CAI, 1.6 roller rockers,31 spline axels,17X9 cobra R rims. upper/lower control arms,subframes,eiback springs,caster plates/camber plates, strut tower brace... its really fast now, but im consider putting in the 4.30's because im staying Naturally aspirated...I want to hear imput form those how have had 4.30's??

it depends on waht your doing when going thru the traps at teh track if you need that extra gear or not.

well will it be alot more steep compare to 4.10's, or just slightly steeper. Im really wanting the 4.30's also consider that i have 17X9 cobra r rims, they are a taller rim than the 15's stockers. so 4.30 with cobras will seem like a 4.20 gear ratio???

well if you got the power yeah its gonna be quicker in the hole shot but you will power on the top end of the track and the thing will eat you alive in gas now days

youre really a newb arent ya? rim size doesnt matter its overall diameter. for any gear change thats close like that its about 200 to 400 rpms difference.

stick with 410s unless you plan on running a 28 tall tire which youre not, hell even 410s will cause you issues soon

I'm with Quik. No more then 4.10's. If it were me I'd stay with the 3.73's.

ill be making too much HP and run out of gear with 4.30?.....so I should stick with 3.73's, well I personally like the snappiness of 4.10's so I think ill switch to 4.10's. Anyone else have ideas???

Some kid i know has a 95 Cobra with 430's and hes going to change them i tihnk to 373's .. there ****in crazy gears man for just driving normally .. if you cant decide go with 410's

I kinda don't like my 4.10's. If I could do it again, it would be maybe 3.90's or 3.73's. I just think they're a LITTLE too short for driving. I hit the freeway a lot.
