Default headlights turn off after 20 mins

I was driving on the freeway at night and just randomly my headlights went out. I would still be able to use my lights if i manually kept it on high beam and then after a while my low beams would work again and then my low beams would go out and the I do the same thing again. I do have light bulbs that require more power. any ideas?

I was having the same exact problem they would go off after driving a while and they would flicker a few times then stay off. have different bulbs also. i checked all the wiring and nothing. ended up changing the headlight switch the other day and has not done it since but i have only driven it a couple times at night.

the head light switch could be the problem, but I would have think that something is getting to hot or something like that if they would turn back on after the low beams cooling down

that is what i was thinking as well but i figured that the switch would be a good place to start because when the headlights turned off so did the fog lights. if there was a problem in between the switch and headlights the foglights would not be turning off, so maybe the switch itsself is overheating

It could be that the switch is over heating, but my fog lights still work. Do you think if use regular light bulbs, the problem would be solved?

maybe your having a different problem then because my fog lights always shut off when the headlights went off.

you guys are having the classic TSB problem of the fog light switch overheating, don't run the fog lights and see if issue stops, if it does you need to perform the tsb repair = rewire foglights using a relay
