I am curious to know if the quarter windows out of an 87-93 will fit a 79-86. I have an 84 but hate the the quarters on it. Not too fond of the louver looking things. (the piece on the back portion of the quarter windows). If the 87-93 windows would fit, I will just replace with those though.

I would also like to know if the 87-93 gt ground effects are a simple bolt on or if ANY fabrication is required.

Any answers to these questions would be very much appreciated.

yes they will fit, I have not done it myself but it can be done .Tha ground effects fit but need the backets rivited to the body . holes need to be drilled, I think the gt has extra holes ? most anything from '79-93 can fit .

the windows will bolt directly up.

the gt body kit will be more of a pain. you will need new door moldings for one. you will also need a new headlight wiring harness. some other modification will be needed as well. along with a new hood

My main concern was the ten hole wheels and the quarter windows with those goofy vents. I am getting wheels tonight but wanted to be sure the windows would work. If there are any other cosmetics I can do to make it look better for a pretty reasonable price, please let me know. I have never messed with the cosmetics of a mustang, so I am pretty unsure about it. I don't mind the four headlight look, so that is not too big of a deal. Thanks for the help.

the cheaper way to make it look better would be to find an 85-86 front bumper cover or and 82 if you can find one. i personally cant stand the 83-84 nose or the 79-81

When adding the 87-93 quarter windows the first set of studs do not have anything to bolt to so they just kinda sit by the pillar. Either you will have to keep some pressure on them when sealing or have some little washers or something welded on so the studs can bolt down to something.

There are studs on the windows? I apologize for my ignorance, but I have never had to do windows before. Which is why I came here I guess, is for help. And to MJR46, I am not planning on doing the 87-93 front end, I would just like to do the 85-86 front as the advice was given. Because as I said I don't like the front end on this because of the grill, but I guess the 85-86 is different. I don't mind the 4 eye look though, as I said previously.

I appreciate all advice and help. I am also looking for a passenger side door, because that is the only part of the whole car that has through rust. If somebody could help me out there that lives in Illinois, I would appreciate it.
Also looking for smoked headlight covers if anybody knows a good brand for them.

Yes, the quarter windows bolt in basically. You will see this when you pull back your interior panels.
