Just saw 315s on the rear of a fox
This morning I was backing out of a parking lot and noticed a fox body LX hatchback 5.0 with aftermarket rims. I wanted to take a look at the size of the rim just to give me ideas. I also noticed the tires were pretty wide.
I got out to take a look and found that the tire profile read: 315/35/17
I was like holy....... Then I took a closer look. They were Nitto tires but don't know what series. I know they were street radials because they were pretty smooth.
It was a WIDE tire on there but the only problem I instantly noticed is what measures were taken to accomodate the tire. First off the fenders were not modified at all. This lead to wear on the tire that you could see clear as day. The outside of the tire looked like someon grabbed a screwdriver and rubbed the outside of the tread as it was turning. There was about 1/2-1" of rubbing you could see on the tire from the fender. Next I noticed that the LX tailpiped were hammered in to clear the tire. The hammering was a hack job that didn't even look good. It looked like someone bent that area of exhaust then bent it back....but only did this a number of times.
So the idea of having 315s on the rear was cool...the process they went through to get them on...was not.
The front I didn't see but clearly I could tell they were not as wide...maybe 245s....
Too bad I didn't have my camera.

Well that screwdriver like thing you saw was the fender lip.
You can roll it or have it rolled(just bending it up into the fender so it's not a friggin knife stabbing your tire).
But He couldn't of been running quad shocks at all...
And I can imagine that tail-pipe mustve been beaten to ****.
But yeah, right way to do it.
Get a torch and start cuttin.
Tub the *** end.
