after seeing the repro floors i dont think i would mind a little cutting and welding... but the torque boxes and strut towers are a good thing to check too before i do anything. i totally forgot to look at other things for rust after seeing that floor haha the car has subframe connectors also... could the rust be the reason they put them in? i was told the car used to be raced but i dont really believe it...

Man I feel bad for you northern and east coast guys. It is nice to be on the somewhat rust free west coast. It brings a tear to my eye when I see even the brand new cars back there covered in rust after a year or two.

Must be nice to be on the west coast. You have to really disect cars here before purchasing because you never where the rust is starting on them!! But ya bud, putting floor pans in a fox body is pretty simple!! Dedicate a whole weekend and you will have it done.

If you weld under car watch out for moltant metal dropping in your shorts. Always clean metal of all rust where you are welding. A leather welding jacket is good to wear when welding overhead.

haha my car is far new from new and im definately gonna have to disect it... she has 325000 km's lol so i shouldnt be suprised that there is rusted floors... im not too concerned about the floors anymore its the rear strut towers and apparently torque boxes should be checked too, should the inside of the car be braced at all when welding the new floors in?

Shouldn't have to support car if cutting out lower sections of floor pans.
Before doing any cuts record door jam widths and photo door seams with doors closed.
If any measurement or door fit changes (not likely w/ lower pan) then jack car till measurements are perfect before welding new pans. Avoid jacking car in too far to the front or rear. If you are doing 4 pans; do one at a time just to err on caution.
I replaced convertible frame rail and had to be very careful with measurements and support. Floor pans did not effect door fit.

im thinking i might just do whole passengers side, if i was doing just the rear passengers i would just cut that section out of another fox and put it in but since i see these aftermarket repro complete floors i wanna do that more...thank god for 2nd cars lol who knows how long this will take
