5.0 bog off the line

I wouldn't necessarily say getting a tune is the right way either. You don't need a tune to run right or run fast. PonyDown's yellow notch ran 9's without a tune. Just a fuel pressure adjustment and base timing set. So would you say they are doing it the wrong way too?

Yeah, just upping fuel pressure does nothing but deliver more fuel across the board. Which may or may not be what the engine needs. Will it work fine on some combos? Yeah....but properly tuned they'll run better and have less likelihood of engine damage/wear.

I'm not saying a tune isn't the best idea. A tune will help any car with fuel injection. But you don't have to have a tune for these cars to run properly. If we were talking about an LS1 then that's a different story.

Have you ever tuned these cars? Because I certainly have! The stock tuning is NOT OPTIMAL, especially once the cam gets changed. There are many things that you must change in the ECM to get PROPER performance out of the new parts.

What would be the point in building a performance combination, and then not tuning it to actually extract that performance? Tons and tons of combinations leave tons and tons of power on the table just in the tune.
