Question 92 cluch adjustment

I have a 92 coupe with the aftermarket quadrant single hook just replaced the cable and I think I have it right it starts to disengage about an inch from the top the jam nut on the cable just barely has a full nut of threads to get it to disengage closer to the floor do I tighten the cable more or loosen it any help will help

1" to 1 1/2" is good to go

just remember, over-tightening your cable can wear out your thrust bearing...
