i have a 1989 mustang lx,can anyone tell me the difference between the lx and gt.

This is kind of assumed but anyway -- since there isnt a bodykit on the LX its lighter, therefore faster, but not by much.

LX has the same damm setup as the GT. i can pull my vin and it wil show the code for teh GT handling package. there isnt no damm difference between a GT and LX excpet for cosmetics. this is going off 87 to 93 bodys

The LX comes either as a 5.0L V8 or the 2.3L V4. And is without the ground effects and all of that. It also can come with a standard style trunk, called "notch back" or it can come as a hatch.

The GT only comes as a hatch back (except the convertable), and has all of the body kit things on the outside, and it ONLY comes with the 5.0L V8, there is no 4-cylinder option for the GT.

no such thing as a "V"4 there are st8 4's but they arnt in the V shape

there actually is such a thing as a V4 just not in mustangs they come on some crotch rockets and other bikes I am sure there is also some car out there that has one to. But good call on the fix.
