AURGGGGGG Please help 5.0 White smoke
Ok its a long story, I bought my Fox (88GT) 2 months ago. My intention was to put her in the Garage and work on her all winter. I started by gutting the interior, I was next onto the 5.0 (70K, MAF, MSD ignition, K&N Air filter} I removed the Thorttle body because it was nasty with carbon build up, cleaned it, new gasket, and started the car up. Apparently the water jacket (EGR Cooling) leaked into the intake, What a mess! After bypassing the EGR cooling Jacket, I rmoved as much coolant from the intake, and used gasket sealer. I checked the coolant level, and refilled. I checked the (brand new) oil and it seemed a little milkey, not the worst i have seen. and started the car. Smoke was heavy (smelled like coolant, not oil). I let it run for 20 minutes and the smoke was down to a little bit, I checked the coolant reserve and there were no bubbles, at 3k rpms, and it seems to run GREAT!
OK, Now could there be anything to worry about? I am a little concerned about the oil, but its possible that the coolant got in there through the PCV valve. I know that I will change the oil, is there anything else I should look at? Like I said it starts up perfect, Idles perfect and seems to hold RPM with no stumbleing.
Thanks for any imput

Well just to clarify white "smoke" is moisture vapors, oil burns bluish gray, and black is carbon. Anyway through the pcv could be possible, but doesn't normally happen. Pull the hose on it and see what it looks like. If you're afraid a signicant amount made it in, you will start to notice a "chocolate milkshake" starting to form

if coolant leaked through the EGR gasket area and puddled in the plenum... it is very possible that it could have made its way into the crankcase through the PCV hose. Change the oil again to check for milky oil. if there is none... you are ok
