Default Dead battery

I have a question., when an alternator goes bad., to test does one take off battery post while running and if car dies its a bad alternator?

That's the hack way to do it, sure. I prefer multimeters.

Keep in mind doing so can fry computers, though its mostly newer cars you gotta be careful about

Also the potential spark could potentially blow up the battery due to hydrogen gas especially if it's an older battery. If you don't have a multimeter just go to autozone or similar.

Ok well i did it and the car turned off right away. I just installed a new alternator 2 days ago. Seems the battery isnt charging, and iv also had battery checked and passed. Any ideas because this is my only vehicle and have been working on it non stop for weeks.

The two ( I think grey? ) wires that run from the back of the alt, to the battery, have a fuseable link in them.

Ok well i just looked for a fuse somewhere along the wires from alternator to starter cylinoiod.( sorry for spelling) but still no fuse? Any help on where it can be and even a pik would help. Thanks

Solenoid, and a fusible link looks like a spliced in piece of wire, not a regular fuse. They are used to take a short burst of higher amperage where a normal fuse would just blow, these don't.
