hello all I'm new here just got an 89 gt convertible that i saved from the scrap heap. now i can't seem to get it to idle for anything. here is what i have done so far.

cleaned the injectors replaced the fuel filter and regulator
cleaned the egr valve replaced the ectsensor checked the tps and all the vacum lines idle screw is all the way in and it still won't idle

clean and check the Idle air control . Im guessing it runs fine other than it just wont idle? can you pull any codes from the computer? That would help get some clues as to the problem.

Well, messing with the idle screw was a mistake. This is a computer controlled engine, not a carb. That screw is in place to set base idle, via the Base Idle Relearn Procedure, inside the PCM.

after some reserch and looking at the car itself found that a previouse owner had changed the guages over to the white face. tha bad part is they used the wrong year face covering up the check engine light so im fixing that so i can get the codes.

cleaned the iac the other day and it seemed to run better just can't seem to get it to idle for anything.
