HELP! Bad Idle(suddenly) Trust me I searched.
Ok, just to re-hash, I DID search , and lots of stuff came up. NOT ONE WITH MY PROBLEM.
Everything was fine untill the other I day when I put new spark plugs in. (Autolite 25, gapped@42). Car runs great with the new plugs but, the idle has been bad since.
NOW!...to save us all some time, this is whats been done to try and cure the problem: Battery cable was left off for more than 30 min, so I did an idle re-learn(voltage is good at TPS), cleaned IAC, MAF, and throttle body. For the record the distributor and the cap, rotor, msd coil, Ford racing 9mm wires, ignition module(un-related), and fuel filter, are all NEW. Keep in mind this did not happen prior to me working on the car(plugs have no bearing on the idle). This brings me to the last and most obvious problem, YES I LOOKED FOR VACUUM LEAKS. I did undo the cold air intake to work on the car but, put it all back together as normal. No lines were unplugged, so I started spraying carb cleaner at all possible leaking areas. Strangely, the ONLY place I get a change in idle is when I spray around the sleeves that connect the cone air filter to my MAF(Granetelli), and on the other side a alittle to.
But this cant be the problem because, I didnt have it before, and I took off the intake sleeves, real installed it all and tightened it up do much I thought I was gonna crack something, NO WAY ITS LEAKING FROM THERE.....right?
I spayed again and it still affects idle a bit...is that normal?.......WTF!?
