Need HELP wont run with spout plug in
I am lost. I swapped motor from a hatch to a notch. added 70mm maf and throttle body, BBk intake manifold, aluminum fly wheel, also hypertech chipped but that was already on the hatch. When I got it all done the car ran great for 200 or so miles. Now it wont stay running with the spout plug in. It will start but once it idles down it will sputter and then die. If I take the spout out it will stay running. A week or so ago I unplugged the ECU then plugged it back in and the car ran with the spout plugged in. Took it for maybe a 5 or 10 mile drive. The next time I tried to take it for a ride it was doing the same sputter and die thing. PLEASE HELP im lost. And I wanna drive my car I spent all last summer working on

oh and just for giggles pull that chip out of the computer. try it with the stock ecm table and see if it helps. My 94 computer had a stupid diablo chip in it and I didn't know it was in there , when the 89 block went in with all stock equipment I had a hard time getting it to run correctly , pulled the chip and it ran fine

Was the maf you added calibrated to the injectors your running? Sounds like the computer, when your resetting it, is trying to learn your setup and not liking something. Hence it runs good for a while when reset. Have you pulled codes? That's where I'd start. Could be something simple like temp switch.

Timing is at 14 with the spout out. Maf is not calibrated the sensor is the stock one and the housing is larger. I did run it for codes and got nothing. Thanks for the help guys working OT tonight and car tomorrow. Im going to try taking the hypertech.

Are you sure your pulling codes correctly? If your car wont idle, your computer will store most any problem it sees.
And yeah, yank that chip out, reset computer, put some miles on it, pull codes. KOEO & KOER.
A stock computer works very well, even with bolt on's, cam, ported heads, full exhaust, yadda yadda yadda. I put a wideband in my car and picked up a Anderson PMS cheap off craigslist. The stock computer did a great job with A/F ratio and timing almost all the time.

Well got the new clutch cable installed. New gas filler tube seal check clutch pedal rubber check. Took the hypertech out and unplugged computer. Took it for a drive seemed ok we shall see next time I take it out. Any more advice on this maf calibration would be great. stock injectors 70mm throttle body and maf housing stock sensor.
