Hey guys just bought a 90 Lx 5.0 car mods are
170 tw street heads
Street heat intake
1.6rr stock cam
70mm Tb 75 maf calb 30inj
30lb injectors
UdP with smog and Ac delete

I feel the car is a turd until it reaches 3500 rpm , it's got the stock gearing. Question is I don't want to dig into the motor and add a cam. Would just goin with 3.73s wake this beast up. Please don't tell me the cam is killing me that much.

Forgot to mention it has shorty headers with no cats 2.5 inch exhaust all the way back

Did you do this work or did you buy the car like this? It's extremely od that someone would tear a motor down to put new heads on and not do the cam. But to your original question. GEARS ARE HUGE! 3.73-4.10s and your car will feel like a completely different animal.

Literally if I try taken off in this car it bogs with at low rpm, but if I try to launch to high it spins everywhere. It feels like it has no power Down low. I'm thinking the gears will fix that

The stock ones I'm guessing 2.73s it's a 5spd

add some 3.73 gears...it'll help.....but if it were mine, I'd tear it back apart, contact ED at www.flowtechinduction.com for a cam and spring package that'll wake the car up, ditch the trick flow intake/sell it, take the funds and buy a holley systemax 2 and have tmoss over on the corral.net port it and presto.....turd no more!!!

I thought bout digging in and putting a cam in, but I'm leaning towards the gears and probably finding a used vortech or Procharger and running low boost with it 😳

Previous owner stuck all that money into the motor and skipped the most important/obvious/ #1 mod ??? That being gear swap ........

What's up with that........

And a stock cam ??? Oh well, it's yours now, time to make it right lol.
