racing shifter
Hi,
My daughter has an 88 mustang with a 5.0 and 6 speed manual trans. We go to the local drag strip about twice a month. She wants a racing shifter for christmas. The car is stock,my question is will she notice a difference with a better shifter, will it hamper her street driving, and which would be a good choice? Thanks, you guys and gals have been so helpful to us,we really appreciate it.

RE: racing shifter
Should have a 5-speed unless it's been up-graded to a 6 speed. Anyway ,a great shifter for your 5-speed is the PRO 5.0 shifter!! Shifting this shifter is a great improvement over the stock shifter. I believe that she will enjoy it very much. The shifter is of the HIGHEST QUALITY! This is my personal opinion and experience. Good Luck!!!

RE: racing shifter
I have owned the steeda tri-ax and i have the pro 5.0 shifter in my sh#t box right now and god do i love it. The tri ax was a piece compared to the pro 5.0. A much shorter and solid shift she is now.

can't go wrong w/ hurst....been around forever.
she will absolutely LOVE it
it's actually ez'er to drive since the stock rubber bushings are eliminated to get rid of all that "slop" and also spring tension to "hold" between 3-4
best $200 money can buy. i have a b&m ripper currently, have used hurst b4, they all feel the same to me personally.
and a very ez install. 1/2 hour basic tools

RE: racing shifter
After having "hands on" experience with most of the other brands I too recommend the PRO 5.0 shifter. It has the best all around feel. It has a very positive feel but requires less effort to drive on a daily basis then other shifters of its type.
