Default 302 to 351 interchangeable?

Hey, I am considering starting a project of building a 351 in my spare time and spare money. I will have help building it since it's my first project but what I'm wondering is when/if I get it finished, will most of my after-markey parts go on the 351? Like heads, intake, air intake, pulleys, headers? I've heard they will, but the intake needs new rails and the headers will need extensions from the collectors. This is just a planned project, my motor is fine with low miles. Just something I'm considering for the future.

Thanks

The possiblilities are endless with the windsor motors. You can get tons of power out of them before stroking them. But if you have your sights set on a high powered setup go with any of the stroker kits.

depend on if you want a 351 windsor or cleveland. a windsor is a big block, cleveland is stroked small block. a 351 cleveland would work with the 302 since it is the same block, but a windsor wouldnt. it is a bigger block and h/i/c/headers/pulleys, really almost everything wouldnt work.

a big block refers to the actual size of the block. a big block usually weighs in more by 200lbs then a smallblock.
both windsor and cleveland are close in size. the head and intake and all that BS are larger. more of a wider block then big block

Thats right both 302 and 351's are small blocks. The cleveland block is a bit different than the windsors but what really seperates the two is the heads design. The boss 302 is a windsor block with the cleveland heads. They did a bunch of crap to them to get them to fit but you see the results. The cleveland head design is a much better healthier breathing head. And they are a wider block by enough that you cant confuse one from another.

And neither are big blocks! The big blocks start with 335 and are the FE motors for the most part.335,352,360,390,and so on.

i think its in the same same family as the ford 400. the letters after the cubic inches always refer to where it was made. like a 4.6r is a romeo
