Where do they go, and could a "noob" put one in?</P>

from my experience i did mine when i had the tranny out. mine of course is an aod. there is a door at back of the tranny.[if you look at it from tail to front its on the left] inside is the gear. youll need to remove the door and pull out the gear. swap gears reinstall. you can probably do this inthe car. on a manual i think you need to change the driven gear also
