Default Thinking about switching from 4.6 to 5.0

i have owned three 4.6 mustangs in the past and am really thinking about buying my first 5.0 mustang. I haven't decided if i want a coupe or a fastback yet, but i was wondering is if some years have benefits over others like the pi and nonpi 4.6s or not. Also, what are some of the basic mods for the fox cars and what is the benefit of the explorer head and intake swap on the 5.0s.

sorry for so many questions all at once, just trying to figure out where to start. I am not look to build a car to race, just something to hang with lightly modded other street cars.

thnks
josh

87-93's are pretty much the same, 87-88 were non mass air besides the cali 88's, 93's had hyperteutic pistons, other than that they didnt really change a whole lot over the years.. 87-89 are my favorites

how about the 94-95 5.0s and what are the limitations of the pushrod motor compared to the modular motors

well there isnt any set hp level, some people make 450 on stock internals some dont.. general rule is anything over 500 on a stock block is pushing it.. but the 5.0 is much more mod friend than a 2v

well mods start out pretty basic.. Cold air, exhaust, gears, etc.. you'll need to worry about tuning once you start diving into the motor

most HCI barely make 300, if you want that power it either takes a power adder, or a stroker combo will make 300 easy

so could u touch base on stroker combos for the 5.0 and are the power adders basically the same for the 5.0 as the 4.6. Would these mods be able to get u to 400rwhp relativly easily.

One more question that i have always wondered is what is the difference between the cobra 5.0 and the GT 5.0

Not enough to really matter... you end up replacing all the stuff that makes them different anyway
