Talking Wo0t! im excitted!

Just got off the phone with Promotion Powertrain

Just spent just over $1300 on the transmission and other goodies.

transmission is a "Cobra" T5 rated at 370hp, was $750 + $250 core, so $1000, i have the core, so the transmission is only cosing me $750

was told that they have seen plenty of guys go into the high 10's with these transmissions, and should work great for me. only real worry is the STEEP first gear.
First gear ratio is 3.35, and with my 4.10 rear end, i think my 1st gear MIGHT be good till 20mph, idk.
so i gear swap might be in the future if it slows me down at the track.

i have all the other parts except the pedals (i have 3 local ppl im incontact with that have them, just trying to get the best price.), Shifter boot, and shift knob.

trying to decide if i want a cloth shift boot, and if i want a chrome shift knob, or all black shift knob.

thats really it other then ATF fluid, and such.

so in about 3 weeks time i should be able to start my swap!

CANT WAIT TO GET RID OF THIS STUPID AOD!!!!

I have seen several T-5's down in the mid to low 10's. It is all in how hard you are on those things if they will hold up or not. All cars at above mentioned times were turbo cars also. What ever you do, don't start power shifting the thing if you want it to last. One of the infamous T-5's worst enemy is a power shift.

Ive never power shifted anything, and i dont even plan too, so it works out well for me, haha.

You could also go to a taller tire over switching gears

yea i have, but im going to wait till these tires are pretty worn out.

this just use to be my "weekend" car, but now that i have to daily drive it, ill be switching out the mickey thompsons for some street tires.

but once these are worn out from battles at the track, then ill start worrying about moving to a bigger/taller tire.

I run a 255/60/15 MT Radial. I bought them from 50Stanger some time back. They are advertised at 27" tall. Work fine for me, hooks up real well. I run a 3.90 gear with a C4
