Default Camshaft Innovations....or FTI???

Not trying to start an argument here. I have only one question. I know that Jay at CI grinds each cam for that one certain build. My question is...

Does Ed at FTI do the same, or does he do like Anderson Ford Motorsports, and just have custom grinds that are already done that he picks that most closely works with your current setup.

I am a member @ hardcore 50 but didnt want to aks this question over there and start a war bc both builders are on that site also. If Im going to drop $500 for a cam and springs, I want it to be built for my setup, and not a general grind.

P.S.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BE EXPECTING A BUILD THREAD SOOONNNNN!!!!!!!!!! I just about have everything together. I think yall will like it.

I often wondered which was better myself. I will go with a custom grind when I put my other engine together, just haven't made up my mind on which would be better.

Stayin with the 302.

Jays SADI core is $300 and his billet is $400
Ed told me $325 for his, but he didnt say if it was SADI or billet.

Considering what the builds needs are, are you really warranted with needing a billet core or would a sadi core suffice. What did Jay or Ed tell you?

if u are spending any decent amount of money on a motor and like u said are going to be racing it i would lok no where else than a billet cam.

i will be buying a billet tlsr from jay on my next build and have no doubt about the work or price as the old saying is u get waht u pay for buy cheap **** expect to tear it aprt and do it again and then u have spent twice the money and then some..

easy decision to me..

Jay just emailed me and said to give him a day or two. I'll ask him when I talk to him again. I dont think I would need the billet core.

$300 neighborhood = SADI.... $400 is billet. The cam core material is suggested/determined by CI based on your application, is billet a better alternative?... yep, but it will depend on a "pre-design" check of the cam profile alternatives Jay does. What are your plans with that build? Curious here.

JT, its not really a crazy build. If he says I'll need the billet, then thats what i'll go with. If the SADI is ok, then I'll go with that.

Basically, this is what I got...

302 10.5:1
AFR 165s matched to a 1262
Hurricane intake matched to a 1262 (Vic. Jr. copy)
PPI balancer
Full MSD
Custom Pro-systems carb (cost me a crap ton of money to have built)
Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel
KC clutch

some other stuff that im forgetting

will have a 150 plate kit in the future.

I'm selling my X-cam, E-cam, and my Eddie Performer 5.0 FI intake.
