im telling you what people run around delaware maryland and new jersey.. i am also talking 1/4 mile times .(and that is if the car continues to run at the same pace it was for the first 1/8 mile). if you translate a 8.9 it comes out to 13.88 thats not far off from where im talking about.. and second you are in a different part of the country from me.. temp altitude are diff.. so before you go running your mouth like you know something open your eyes up alittle bit first and know what your talking about

why does it have to be a larger motor to make it a muscle car?

Well by all definition a Muscle is a car that is mid sized, has a rear seat and some of the biggest motors available. The Corvette is a sports car but is American muscle at it's finest. It has been in CONSTANT production since 1953. While there were no 1983 models built the 82 model was built until late December aand the Factory was retooling for the 84 Model C4 Vette that was introduced mid year 83. They never stopped building them and brought them back but it was just a drastic retooling effort going on. It's gone from sports car to a world class super car.

Mustangs were never really classified as a Muscle car either. Muscle cars were mid sized cars like GTO's Fairlane GT, Comet GT, Cyclone,Torinos, Road Runner, GTX, Chevelle SS, Nova, Buick GS, Olds 442, Dodge Charger and a few Dozen others.

The Mustang kind of started it's own thing in the "Pony Car" Wars which included of Course Mustang, Camaro, Firebird, AMX, Javlin, Cougar, Rebel.

If you really wanted to get right down to what a real Muscle car is and who builds it the last American Muscle car is the Dodge Charger. You can get it from a V6 right up into an SRT8 version. It is a mid size car platform and you can get it rom mild to wild. Even in 4 doors with the R/T or SRT platform it is what a Muscle car started out to be. Just the mid sized family car kicked up a few notches.

When it comes to Pony cars the Mustang has always been there. And while it has been in constant production since 1964 there have been a few times it came close to exstinction. While some think the 74-78 were "Non Mustangs" it's what really save the breed. Not only did they sell like hotcakes but they carried Mustang into the next performance era. They were what they need to be when they needed to be it. Mustangs were never the fastest car on the block but it was a consistant seller. The new Challanger and Camaro are really pushing Ford to really step up the game. A GT-500KR is pretty much king of the current pony car wars but I wouldn't consider it a Muscle car. The Dodge Charger SRT-8 holds the crown to that title.

larger motors are what classic American cars have been big cubic inches massive low end torque... as we go to smaller and smaller motors you just dont get the same feeling.. for example my buddies dad has a 1970 or 1969 vette with a 427.. when you step on that being stock u get a whole different feeling and rush then with a small block or newer car.. this is why if you talk to a older guy who had old american muscle he will tell you the same thing theses arent muscle cars
