Default Hood flew open!

Okay, this past Saturday as I was driving down the street after me and one of my buddies finished putting on a Ford Racing A/C Delete kit on my notch, I was already in the car ready to go and all he had to do was close the hood, didn't close the hood all the way down and as I'm going 40 on the street my fukin hood goes flying up, boy was I pissed, It messed up the hood but luckily my buddy had an identical factory color great condition spare in his backyard and so I replaced the hood. Now my whole cowl part where the windshield wipers are mounted is dented in.

I was going to get body and paint done by the end of the summer anyway but now thanks to this incident I hate driving around with a messed up cowl piece and so I want to go ahead and re-paint the whole car the factory color, still has original paint, I believe it is wild strawberry but not certain.

So my question is, what do you guys think the paint and that one cowl dent (I want it to look and seem as if nothing EVER happened to it) go for, as in price.

My buddy told me that he can take it out himself but I don't want him taking it out himself and messing it up even more. I don't know many people that have painted their fox so I am reaching out to you guys to give me an idea about how much I will end up paying for.

I live in the Bay Area if it matters at all.

I don't have access to pics rite now, and no, I am lucky that I didn't even get a scratch on the windshield, did dent the roof just a tiny bit though.

I was quoted 800 for the cowl, 1800 I believe for the roof, and another 1000 for replacing all the frame from the windshield forward

that sucks...

I know bernie will say that a properly adjusted hood and stuff will never fly up...

but I always like that extra insurance hood pins offer... thats just me tho

Yup, did dent the roof, not badly though, and no, not a scratch on the windshield.

I've got pictures on my phone but not on photobucket or my computer, still too pissed to do so.
