I'm considering picking up a rough stang for use as a daily driver. I can't stand this cavaqueer anymore. I want a stick. These cars both have a bit of rust spots on fenders... the usual, but I want a beater.
First option...
86 gt 5.0... only problem is it's an AUTO... ftl.

Second option...
83 gt 5.0

Known problems: starter won't work after heat soak... going to need a new clutch soon.
I can easily do the work to the cars, I've got lift access. I would def talk the price of that 83 down by reason of clutch/starter.

go with the 86, because the 83's had ignition problems eec3 processor, and nobody wants to work on the electronics on that car...believe me...lol
Your best bet is to find an 87-93 5.0 or even a 4 cyl. stick. parts are cheap, and they are easy to work on...theres so much info online for DIY'ers.

I wouldn't mind getting an aero fox... but I'm open to any fox that is a stick and relatively cheap.
Repairs and maintenence I'm not worried about... I've already completely built my 91. Not to mention I've done a 71 chevelle from the ground up.
I'm not too experienced fiddling with carbs, so that will be my main hiccup.
