Default Well, this should be fun. (Pics)

Had a small headgasket leak into the cooling system. Then it got worse.

After removing the valve covers...

Vanilla!

Put the block check kit on it 6 hours after it ran, just for ****s and giggles.

isnt it supposed to turn blue if there is a leak, or is it blue that turns to yellow?

i forgot.

Aside from sending the heads to the machine shop to be checked for cracks and deck straightness, the job shouldnt take more than 8 hours, working at a slow pace

Sure,any advice is appreciated!

I ordered a new Oil press. sending unit, http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/M6051A50 for the heads, some sterling silver Cobra emblem earrings for my girlfriend (lol), a new dipstick, and a new antenna base since mine is missing, and a Ford Racing fender cover (Hey, it was only 9.99)

yyyyyeep... time for a new bottom end.

since you wont have it together by wednesday, I'd suggest you source a stock HO cam for the new bottom end. With the 1.7 rockers you have, itll give you a nice little pick up. and still drive basically stock and for really short money too

I'm ordering a new bottom end from 50resto for $799. I'm seriously considering the TFS stage II with 1.6 on the intake and 1.72's on the exhaust
