well that's only because I already had a tremec I bought over a year ago in case this happened, had I not had a back up in waiting, it might be a different attitude, but I knew it'd happen eventually which is why when I came across this tremec I snatched it up 1200 for it, came with the bell housing, new mgw shifter, heavy duty clutch fork and release bearing, so I got it, in fact from the same guy I bought my 306 bottom end for my 89 vert

I got my Synchromesh at my local Napa, they had to special order it though. But regardless of where you get it at, I'd recommend that's all you use in it. It's what it was designed for, and it's REALLY good. Even with all the high heat and hard driving I do, mine is still really clean, looks new. And I've got at least 20,000 on the trans by now I'd imagine.

Don't worry to much we smacked one of the local Cobras the other night by a car with the OLD BLUE BOMBER the other night when you left the cruise in then. he got us by 1/2 car, he went I lifted then went he was out on us by a car and a half I made it back to the back of his door and couldn't reel him in anymore not gone to tear up another persons car. ( $6000 Fox body/with mods $18,000 cobra/with mods ) not kicking the Cobras I love them myself but it was putting some tudes in place.. LOL he was on drag radial us straight street tires. round 2 we are gone to go to a set of tires and pull the belt tight on the S/C due to much slipping and spinning then run again. I look for major hurt feelings.. But I maybe wrong..LOL

my 3550 is holding up great so far behind my car. even under spray where i'm sure i'm exceeding the 525 torque rating. only thing i don't like about it is that it's hard to shift over 6k. i read it was a normal tko thing tho. I had nothing to compare it to, until i drove my buddies 4.6 with a 3650 in it, shifted smooth as butter at 6k, unlike this 3550 lol.
