Which clutch to go with?
hey guys im new to the forum but love anything ford.Anyway my question is my clutch is finally giving up on me . Its a dual friction centerforce . I have had good luck with it. It has taken some abuse over the years but starting to slip now . so my question is which clutch do i go with now do i go back to the same one or a different one . I am guessing the hp is around 450 and will be a little more later on . It sees more street than strip but i do go to the track a couple times a year . There are so many clutches to choose from and so any opinions on which ones to go with.So hopefully you guys can help me decide on one. Oh ya i am using the stock flywheel too.

thanks for the replies from both of u guys . Have u had your spec for a while and does it have a stiff pedal feel and is it very streetable. Also i was looking at the spec 3+ clutch but dont Know much about it and how it holds up either. I have been racking my brain for a week so thanks for the info

yes to the flywheel, i went with a SPEC alum unit with removable 50, and 28oz weights (my 331 is 28oz balance). as for it being streeable yes, it has a nice feel to it, a little quick on the release but it by no means an on/off clutch. the 3+ will be an on/off one. its a little on the stiff side, but so are all the rest...

alright thanks .so your stage 2+ is not stiff right and have u had it for a while does it chatter or anything like that and is it good for my hp range ang the strip. Sorry if i ask so many questions i just want to make the right choice . thanks again

and unless youre planning on making more than 600ish hp (you might plan, but your block will have other ideas...) itll be fine.
im am curious to see if itll release correctly at 7000rpm; thats my big question...

i havent driven my car for about 3 years, but the ~10K that i put on the clutch were fine and i hammered on it pretty hard.

Thats not good that u havnt driven it in 3 yrs its a good looking car hope u get it out. I dont plan on hitting 7000rpm ever unless i miss a gear and i dont plan on making 600 hp. After i do a impeller upgrade on the paxton that all i plan on doing. Your clutch isnt stiff though. is that right . sounds like a good clutch thanks for all the info..
