1988 Mustang LX Restoration Progress
#11
Things got slowed down inside the engine bay once the fenders came off, we found new holes and stuff to fix. No biggie, those have almost been fully repaired. All that's left is a hole on the driver side below the windshield, the passenger side has been done.
Prestige Mustang came through for me. A rust free roof skin, radiator support and 2 quarter panels are on their way. They should arrive near the end of the week. Add the rust free doors and most rust repair work has been eliminated.
I also purchased the SSBC rear disc/5 lug conversion kit. That looks backordered so I'm not sure when that will arrive. I'll need to get some front calipers and probably as a bunch of questions about proportioning valves and master cylinders which the kit doesn't have.
On to the progress photos.

Things have slowed a bit while we were waiting for the roof skin, radiator support and quarter panels.
They finally arrived, minus the quarter panels. There's an issue I hope to get resolved with the folks I bought the parts from. If it cannot be resolved, I will definitely post the story about what happened. I am at a loss as to why things escalated to the point they did.
Anyway, now that we have the radiator support, we should have the front of the car done shortly.
Cheers

As I said, things slowed a bit. But now we're onto replacing the radiator support and getting the engine bay finally painted.
The engine is going back together, I just had to pick a colour for it. I went with Ford blue. I should have it back in a week to 10 days.
The Crate (I'll never do business with Prestige Mustang again, you're free to PM me if you'd like to know why.)
Radiator Support
Roof
Rad Support off
Before it's welded back on. (See tomorrow)

I need Quarter Panels and they currently don't have any. For now we'll be busy on the engine bay and then the roof and doors, quarters will be last. I hope they don't become an achilles heel.
