1995 Mustang GT
Hey, kinda new to these motors and I have a question about a cam and some 1.6 roller rockers. I found these on CL for a great price, but I don't know if they will work in my stock motor? I have a 1995 GT 5spd with 162k. Only mod is weld in super 44 flows. Thanks, I appreciate any help! - Nathan

Where is your proof that 14° is better than 12°? Why 14°? Do you know what kind of problems you can run into with a higher mileage GT by cranking up on the base timing?
I bet not...

There is no magic number for timing. 14 is a number I'm comfortable with from personal experience and wouldn't be comfortable going any farther than that. MY personal experience with both 5.0 Mustangs I've owned and raced at Atco with 100K+ miles on the odometer have run better E/Ts @ 14 degrees timing without detonation. This bone stock 95 was 2/10ths better thru it's automatic tranny with 106K on the clock at 14 degrees timing vs. 10 degrees with no other mods! 14 has worked for me and I recomend anyone try it, hoping they have the good common sense to cut it back to 13 or 12 if the car starts to knock! You always have something cute to say. Do you understand this is an open forum where people come to enjoy themselves with like minded people and should be able to express their opinions without some douche having something cute to say? I Bet not...Jeezus I thought the kids on the SRT-4 forum were bad! You act like it's bad advice to recomend advancing the timing. You could have just simply said there is no magic number for timing in your above post and I would have redily agreed with you. *SIGH* But no, you always have to have something cute to say. Theres enough douchebags in the world without me having to come to this forum that I enjoy and get douche bag comments here also.Here's what others have to say about max timing. Hmmmm... I was already planning on doing some 4.10's but I want to swap an IRS in. So im waiting on that. Just saw what I thought could be a good deal on CL and wanted to make sure before I called the guy. Thanks! BTW, the motor has awesome oil pressure and no blue smoke. Awesome motor. Im going to run it until it blows up, but it will outlast the tranny and rear end for sure. This is my 4th Mustang. 88 fox gt, 96 gt, 04 Mach 1, and now the 95 gt.
I dont suppose GT40 heads and intake are worth my while either?
