Alright folks, i have a 1990 LX Mustang. I bought it back in 07, and when i bought it, it had this bumper on it. The bumper on my car does not say "MUSTANG" in the back, its just plane. After seeing every other mustang, even 4cyls having "MUSTANG" in there bumper i was at a lost to what bumper i had. Maybe i had an old capri bumper? After looking at the car a bit closer, i can tell it was gently hit in the back and that the bumper must have been replaced. I figured they went with a cheap bumper at the time and bought something plane.

So moving forward, im on the corral and i see this for sale:



And i think, hmm that 1993 cobra bumer is cool.

So when i doubt, i go to latemodelresto because they pretty much have everything. And they have this listed as a 1993 cobra bumper.




And then i think, oh snap maybe when this car was hit they used a cobra bumper? But on late model resto it says:

"These parts do not match with Mustang LX moldings!"

So now im at a lost, and hoping you can tell me what bumper i have. Here is my car:

Also i do realize now that the bumper that says "Cobra" is definitely not a fox bumper. But that is what sparked my interest towards what bumper i have. So please do not post telling me thats not a fox bumper.

The only thing that is causing a problem is that the cobra bumper has little 'bumps' for the tail pipes, and mine does not. The exhaust is actually quiet close to the bumper, i have noticed this b4.

Replacement bumpers do not have Mustang in them, simple as that. Front or rear. If you want your bumper to say Mustang you have to get it from another Mustang.

Same with Cobra replacements.

You have an aftermarket replacement stock style LX bumper cover.

There are replacements available now that are licensed by Ford & are made from the original tooling that retain the MUSTANG lettering, both front & rear.

The 1993 Cobra did not have any lettering in the rear bumper cover, even from the factory.

the first black bumper is an SN-95 (96-98) cobra bumper
