Default Am I a ricer?

So... Here it goes. I wanted to put a hood scoop on my sn95. Now, I didn't want to spend 150$ on a scoop from American muscle functional or not. Having a functional scoop isn't even worth it for a street car, you only really even see any type of performance gain out of it on tracks or drag.

Anyways... I went to Autozone and bought a stick on scoop. I removed the ugly "metal" mesh crap. Sanded it, to remove the ugly gloss plastic look. Painted it matte black. Personally I think It looks good, and saved me $100 odd dollars. Ill upload pictures in a bit when it stops raining.

Heres what you all been waiting for the pictures...

Some pretty harsh replies before the pics even come out...

I'm just going to say that sometimes saving $100.00 would be better spent on quality products - especially on exterior cosmetic mods.

That $100.00 may be the difference between "rice" and "meat and taters"

Haha everyone is entitled to their opinion so it's all good. I have 6 friends that own mustang. 2 have fox bodies, the rest are 99-04 GT's, and one has a sn95 cobra. Everyone liked it except the foxbody guys lol. But best thing is its just a stick on, so worse case scenario I just remove it right off. Ill have Picts up tomorrow

Hood scoops are functional on the street by allowing clearance for a big *** engine. Calling it otherwise is kinda rice as well...

Actually realistically speaking a functional hood scoop or hood really doesn't make much a difference for a street car. Just the physics behind it don't allow it. You don't drive at a high enough speed on regular roads to where you can actually get any sort of benefit from a real scoop. Functional scoops or hoods are only really " functional " for the drags. Other than that, on a regular street it's just going to be for "show" wether it's real or not. Which is the reason why I wouldn't spend the extra money on buying a "functional"
Scoop or for a car.

On a carbed engine it can be functional aka forced induction.

I think by defintion any mod or vehicle addition that has no function other than appearance is "rice".

I'm a "less is more" guy now that I've seen my fair share of vehicles that look like Autozone or a JC Whitney catalog threw up on i. But I think we need pics for any official vote.
