Lol just trying to cover the basic safety equipment for a guy wanting to learn. Hell I rarely have a shirt on when I weld, and some times Im barefoot. But I use to weld aluminum all day for 10 hrs and trust me when you weld a reflective surface like that all day you want all the coverage you can get. lol

I'll have to look into it then. I thought the only options were mig and tig. I really am a beginner lol

Flux core works just fine , but you don't get the penetration that you would with mig. It is also much less forgiving of contaminants. If your going for structural integrity then mig or arc are the choices best suited , but if its just some thin sheet steel for appearance then flux core will suffice. Hint :: an angled die grinder is you friend..

Sorry I should reiterate my previous comment, Flux core when set up properly burns hotter and will get better penetration, how ever the cheaper 110 flux core welders allow for very little settings , you usually get 2 heat settings and a variable feed speed. A really nice flux core will allow for a better set up with higher heat settings giving greater control .
